If you don't know much about servers, then that may not be the way to go. A dedicated server would probably cost more than you really need to spend for new/lightly used site. A VPS will get you a similar level of control over your sever at much less expense typically. Again though, you need to be wiling to either administer it yourself or pay someone else to do it.
