TinyMCE is not an application, it's used for dropping into projects for adding rich text editing features to textareas...

What about a list of editor's for rich text editing.
FCKEditor - I tried it, it was working great, now everytime I install it I get the error's for page cannot be found
tinymce - Don't really want every text area going like that

Since this is editor's, anyone have a list of good rich text editors.

OK, I've officially made the switch from Dreamweaver to Eclipse. Not only is it a free alternative, but the extensions you can get for web development are out of this world! It supports SVN repositories to allow versioning of your apps. Besides that, you can install xdebug in your PHP installation, and it actually allows you to manually step through your code and debug like you would in a compiler for other languages. One other huge feature to me is the fact that it takes advantage of PHPDoc syntax and actually creates an ongoing outline of your entire application (all classes, functions and includes!).

Very, very cool software. Also, if you're into Perl or Python for writing up any CGI scripts or other comparable sister code for your PHP, Eclipse has plugins that handle all your needs for those languages, too. Of course, it handles Java since that was it was made for, but I don't do any Java development on there.

Very, very nice toolset. The Weeb Tools Platform would be the best spot to start for people in here, most likely.

Programmer's Notepad 2 - Open source, free, lightweight, highly configurable. The binaries are for Windows. There's also something called pypn, which I guess is pnotepad using python, but I haven't tried it yet.

I add my vote to phpEd!! The address describing it:

http://www.nusphere.com/products/php_ide_major_features.htm

and it is actually one of the best IDE's I have tried, for any
language, no kidding. It is intuitive, doesn't get in your way, can
custom color highlight different kinds of code in different schemes in
the same document, has very smart code completion for PHP that is
smart enough to be able to show you your own classes functions and
variables as choices, an AMAZING debugger that can even debug live
applications and follow through after a submission on a form and keep
debugging, a database client that is really intuitive and quick that
lets you do cool things like drag and drop fields on your form. You
really have to try the free trial version to believe how nice it is.

There are videos on the web site showing the product in use, and I
have been amazed to find it really is all they advertise and more.  8)

Notepad++ can also do many languages, all with Syntax highlighting. You can also get add-ons for it. And I believe you can create your own Syntax Highlighting Colour Scheme's, I've yet to try that.

I'm just now starting to learn php for a project on my own site.  I don't understand how a WYSIWYG would work with php, but that would be awesome if it were actually possible.  Can you get specific about the best WYSIWYG for a beginner?
WYSIWYG is for HTML only. Best is a matter of personal preference and hence the reason why this and this topic are created.
