I've been using ajax a little while, to make quick search boxes and such but I'm making a news system and I want to use ajax but as the form has a large textarea and I don't want to submit the text with get I know how to send with post but I don't understand how to send the variables, can anybody give me a quick rundown?

thanks in advance.

I'm not the best at helping you on this one but i have a script that uses post

the part that is different from a GET is as follows:~

parameters = "Data1='test data'";

      http_request.open('POST', url, true);
      http_request.setRequestHeader("Content-type", "application/x-www-form-urlencoded");
      http_request.setRequestHeader("Content-length", parameters.length);
      http_request.setRequestHeader("Connection", "close");
      http_request.send(parameters);

i think thats all thats needed i think
