I'm writing a shopping cart atm, and I can't figure out how I am going to do this....

 

I have a while loop go through each item and display the corresponding info including a input box with a quantity. Each quantity box is currently named "quantity:3" 3 being the item id for example.

 

What I can't figure out how to do is get the $_POST variables of the quantity and update each of them through the array.

 

I could do this statically, but that just isn't right. Surely there is a way of doing it dynamically!

You should be able to change the name of your items to be an array...

 

<input type="text" name="quantity[$item_id]">

 

This will result in an array that you can loop through in the post element...

 

foreach ($_POST['quantity'] as $item_id => $quantity) {
  //do your updating
}
