type \"dynamic free ip\" in a search engine--i doubt you will find free services that give you the www.name.com format.

Have you paid for a domain name? Don\'t think it\'s possible to get one for free...

.com addys are normally hugely expensive compared to .info or .uk or whichever country you may be in. www.freeparking.co.uk is good for .co.uk addresses.
I can never think of something witty to write in these boxes...

got 8 bucks to spend? hit up www.cheap-domainregistration.com

my whole family has bought domain names from here. The control panel is easy to use, and it only costs 7.75!

If you don\'t care about the www.example.com you can go to http://www.dyndns.com and you can have them give you a sub-domain for free. The service you\'d be looking for is either Static DNS or Dynamic DNS. They are both free. Here\'s a list of the top level domains you can choose from. http://www.dyndns.or...ns/domains.html you can have up to 5 separate hostname for if you want to use virtual hosting. Having some name is better than having your friends type XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX :)
