Running of Flash once?.. Cookies?

Greetings all, I have a small problem.

I am running a small flash routine that I have set to "run once", yet because the fellow that did (designed) the CMS placed the file in a different spot instead of the header...so that the "banner/logo/picture" could be changed for individual pages and such....it re-runs on every menu click.

I am new to php and I would think I need to set a cookie ( and know even less about that)...lol...that will expire...??? and after the inital run...I need it to just be a static banner of the finished logo/flash.

Thank-you all in advance if you can help.
