I'm a noob. I know it, but I can learn quickly. I just have to forget all of my FORTRAN. Be gentle.

 

For the moment, all I'm looking for is some explanation of the generic code

 

<?=$variable?>

 

Is this a short form of something? What does the = in front of the variable name do? Shine the light for me, please.
