Uploading a file

If I put the current file location into a field then when a user clicks on the upload file to upload it how do I actually send that file to the server.

Im testing this on a localhost only.

If you are still using mysql_ functions, STOP! Use mysqli_ or PDO. The longer you leave it the more you will have to rewrite.
