Hello fellow webmasters,

I am the owner of Swift Media UK, i have recently made some changes to the design of our company website and was looking for some critique. I have got an eye for detail, but as you know, the "pickyiest" people cant pick everything to bits, so i am looking for you guys to pull the site apart, im looking for any critique, whether good or bad.

Quick hit: I not sure you can really claim to be up to date with the latest techniques in web design and designers hand-picked from thousands when your pages are built using tables for layout (instead of semantically-correct CSS), you use images for navigation (instead of CSS rollovers), and your pages checked against the w3c xhtml validator (your choice of doctype) shows dozens of errors.

Spelling error: SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION

I think that it looks very professional. Just like a lot of templates you see out there. It definately does not validate as Andy mentioned. I would recommend adding some kind of rollover effect to your main menu buttons. Whether it be css rollovers or javascript image swaps. People like to know where their pointer is.

Hello Guys,

thank you for your comments, both good and bad. Andy, i do agree with you and i do realise i have a lot of work to do, to be honest i am crap at css, and if anything, your post has pushed me into doing some tutorials this morning to learn what i dont know, so thank you for being so blatently honest. I realise you dont pick this sort of stuff up overnight, so i will be making the appropriate css changes to the site over time, and obviously i will repost back here to see if you have any other critique or suggestions for me.

Again thanks very much for taking the time to give feedback and suggestions for my website.

Hi, im from mexico

In this part of the world, this type of sites is a good work. although if you want to compete, need more dinamic options, and the most important thing, easy foy you to modify.

I dont speak a good english.

if you want to see my site [a href=\"http://www.digital-arts.com.mx\" target=\"_blank\"]http://www.digital-arts.com.mx[/a]

I am learning to design, this is my new proyect. [a href=\"http://digital-arts.myftp.org/usuarios/codemaster/\" target=\"_blank\"]http://digital-arts.myftp.org/usuarios/codemaster/[/a]

is only a test.

You realize that, if you want to have your site looked at, you could just start your own thread, right?
Also, I've found that if you were to re-create that design with CSS, you probably could cut down on the size of everything by close to 1/2, simply from removing the <td> tags and the image rollovers. It's a great design, really: I like it. However, your coding techniques are really pretty outdated. Also, were you using Dreamweaver to create that?

Hello mate,

Yes i was using dreamweaver to create the site. Do you have any advice or could point me in the right direction in learning how to re-design the site in CSS, any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

Cheers mate,

This thread is more than a year old. Please don't revive it unless you have something important to add.
