email this page to a friend

Recommended Posts

How exactly would I go about making a page that can email anybody the site visitor wants to while not becoming a spam magnet? better question, how do I build this thing so that the spammers can't use it?

Is the old tried and true method of detecting newlines in $_POST reliable for this? Should I check the "to" field for commas so they only email one friend?

If I'm just paranoid, tell me. I won't mind.

adding an image verification will help against non-human scamming scripts.

interesting -- that would be a neat experiment. I can create an image with text faily easily. Is there a specific method to distort the text (like I see on so many sites), or do you think non-distorted text will do?
