I\'m trying to install MySQL 4 on my RH8.0 box. I downloaded the MySQL-server-4.0.12-0.i386.rpm file from a mysql mirror to my /tmp directory.
I then proceeded as SU, to run rpm -i MySQL-server-4.0.12-0.i386.rpm
It then gives me a scrolling screen on conflicts.

That\'s 10 times longer than above. Is there a way to remove the old version so I can install this new one? I don\'t have anything in the 3.23 version I want to keep.
Any help you can provide would be appreciated. I\'m trying to set up Apache/PHP4/MySQL from a tutorial I found, but it\'s turning into a long aggrivating mess.
