This isn\'t a php problem, but I hope someone can help me with this problem. I\'m running a mysql server on my own system. I used to be able to create blob or text fields, but now I\'m getting an error message.
A sample command is:
alter table `test`.`list` change `col1` `col1` TEXT(50) NULL;
The response I get is:
SQLSTATE
ERRORCODE 1064
MESSAGE:
Syntax error or access violation: You have an error in your SQL syntax near \'(50) NULL\' at line 1
I don\'t think it\'s a syntax problem but is an \"access violation.\" Can anyone tell me where to look for the source of this problem? I checked my userid record in the user table of mysql and the privileges are all set to \"Y\".
Does anyone have an idea what is blocking me from creating blob or text fields? This is really driving me nuts and stopping me in my tracks!
Thanks in advance,
Gary
