  1. Thanks effigy realised how silly my question was when I found a php-mysql rpm file. I\'ve got it sorted now.
  2. I have MySQL installed on my Redhat 8 machine. I know it\'s working because I can use it from the command line. However when I call it from PHP I get this error It sounds like I need to add something to PHP to make MySQL work but I installed them together with the web development package that came with Redhat 8. Thanks in advance Rob
  3. For data types that you do not have to specify the upper limits of there are four (if that sentance didn\'t make sense I\'m sorry) TINYTEXT up to 255 characters TEXT up to 65535 characters MEDIUMTEXT up to 16.7million characters LONGTEXT up to 4billion characters I don\'t know if there is an upper limit for varchar though. try varchar(99999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999) and see what happens
  4. I have installed Linux (Redhat on my machine. I have got apache working and I can find php is installed with rpm. However, when I try and run a file with extension .php nothing happens. Do I have to let Apache know that php is installed? If so how is this done. I don\'t nececeraly need php running as a modul just so long as I can get it working. PLEASE HELP!!
