I have a database already set up and want to display records from it on another page, selected by 'ticking' a checkbox How do i do it? Thanks in advance for any help

I have never used MySQL or PHP before. I need to create a list so the user can choose one of the options. Do I do this when making the table in MySQL or is it done in PHP??? Easy step by step instructions would be gratefully received.
