  1. I know what you mean I live with my parents still so that I can afford to go to college and I\'m trying to make money with my web hosting thing I just got set up and now it looks as though my chances of gettin any sort of traffic is gone father told me that if I don\'t make any money on this thing soon he was gonna drag my ass up to his store (he is general manager at a Carl\'s Jr.) and put my ass to work so much for my personal life and my g/f
  2. once again the fools of the commercial world (google) gets greedy with their power and tries to own everybody and everything (google trying to immitate Microsoft\'s power) what is it with companies getting power/money mad these days? and now I\'m screwed now that I\'ve finally opened my hosting service.. I\'m tryin to figure out how to get on search engines for as cheap as I can and without handing over the keys to my server to some SOB (yes my server has a lock on it... can\'t even turn it on without the keys) so what exactly do peopel in my situation do? well we can either 1) kiss our asses goodbye b/c without the help from search engines we have no real hope of getting trafffic 2) get on our knees and pray that SOMEBODY will find our sites yea I\'m screwed I don\'t know anybody to partner with so 2 seams to be my only option :-/
  3. I\'ve been wonderin how long it\'d take before I saw a forum like this here lol

    php myadmin

you have to install MySQL database seperatly phpmyadmin is just a set of php files that help users use their MySQL database basicaly it gives users a visual reference on their database
  5. I don\'t think there is anything extra you need to do I don\'t exactly understand why you\'re having this problem I used PHPTriad myself and never had a real problem cept with my damn virtual hosts
  6. I don\'t think there is anything wrong with the configuration b/c Apache runs perfectly fine until I include the vhost.conf would that b/c my DNS hasn\'t been set up yet?
  7. well putting C: and such in there causes Apache to not run at all or it\'ll give me a 2nd error hold on a sec let me get in ony server on my personal machine atm hmmm odd its working now last time that didn\'t work thx man edit: uhh I\'m not getting an interal sever error when I try to go to the page what exactly is goin on?
  8. I doubt it considering the machine is running on... *shudders* WinXP
  9. I got a problem with my Virtual Host everytime I try to run apache I get this.... \"No such file or Directory: could not open transfer log file /3kphp/logs/access.log\" however... it IS there I could take a screen shot of the window I have showing its existance I\'ve checked myspelling (common problem with me) I\'ve checked everything I can think to check does anybody have any ideas? vhost.conf <VirtualHost *> ServerAdmin dv_tec@go.com DocumentRoot /default ServerName www.dv-tec.net ServerAlias dv-tec.net CustomLog logs/access.log common ErrorLog logs/error.log </VirtualHost> <VirtualHost *> ServerAdmin dv_tec@go.com DocumentRoot /3kphp ServerName hosting.dv-tec.net ServerAlias hosting.dv-tec.net CustomLog /3kphp/logs/access.log common ErrorLog /3kphp/logs/error.log </VirtualHost>
  10. read the Virtual Hosts tutorial here on this website man that might help some..... but they must be registed with a DNS server to work
  11. Is there a version of Apache for redhat 9??
  12. figures I\'m doin the same thing but its gonna have a couple other things you didn\'t list
