Hi,
I have mysql on my linux box and it works fine. It starts and eveerything. Im using webmin and there is a button which says \"create new table\". Then it asks for table, initial table then it asks for width and what it is, ie. text, int etc. . .
Now when im trying to install my invisionboard, it asks for
SQL Host : localhost
(localhost is usually sufficient)
SQL Database Name: test2
SQL Username: root
SQL Password: *********
SQL Table Prefix(You can leave this blank):
Then i fill out the administration information for the board and hit proceed and get:
The following errors must be rectified before continuing!
Please go back and try again!
Could not create a mySQL connection, please check the SQL values entered
Why is it not connecting?? It\'s running too. I checked through webmin AND /etc/init.d/mysql status running
So...what am i doing wrong??
EDIT:
I just found this at the top of the error page:
I just saw this at the top of the sm_install error page:
Warning: Access denied for user: \'root@localhost\' (Using password: YES) in /srv/www/htdocs/forums/sm_install.php on line 395
Warning: MySQL Connection Failed: Access denied for user: \'root@localhost\' (Using password: YES) in /srv/www/htdocs/forums/sm_install.php on line 395
what does that mean? My root password is right and root is the top level user that can do anything so whats the deal??
Thanks.
