Hey folks, this is a really interesting one. How do I go about connecting to an Oracle database via VPN somehow? I have a Linux dedicated server with WHM currently and I need to setup a PHP script that can connect to Oracle but it will first have to have somekind of VPN access. Any help on this would be much appreciated!

Is there an if statement I can use for echo'ing something if they are in the US or UK for example? Thanks!

Wow I just checked the site you are using for hosting, that is pretty mad what they offer but there much be a catch. I am tempted to sign up just to see what the service is like.

I currently have a dedicated server that I use for my clients, I can let you host on there for £1 a month if your interested? You get 2GB space and 20GB bandwidth with cPanel I have a few servers but they are full, this is a brand new one and while it is not very full I am happy to give away some super cheap hosting. Hey people, Does anyone know of any good websites that I can download simple PHP scripts that I can play with to help me learn PHP? I am told the best way to learn is by jumping right in and reading, extracting and editing already made scripts. Any suggestions are much appreciated!

Hey people, All sites I create are always standard compliant and also pure CSS unless I really need to use a tables for anything. What exactly would I need to do to make sites work as perfect as possible on mobile phones? Do you need to use different doc types or anytinhing?

Hey folks, What do you need to an HTML email to make sure it shows as rendered HTML instead of just loads of code? Obviously I know that the email client that receives the mail needs to support HTML but if it still comes out as code instead of rendered HTML what am I missing? Do I need certain doc types or something?

I really appreciate the reply's guys and taking the time to write lengthy posts. I do have WAMP installed and to explain further, I can get my head around the idea of else if but it is the making it functional part and especially using databases that throw me. Are there any good small scripts that you have as a suggestion to play with? One thing that I find annoying is knowing how much I "could" do with PHP which makes it harder to stay motivated with the very basics, any tips for keeping concertration with learning programming? I really don't get it, I understand the concepts of programming but I just can't seem to take it in. I have been trying to learn PHP for almost a year now and I really can't do anything with it, I see some people who pick it up in a few weeks and it leaves me so confused. I badly want to learn PHP but I just seem to fail and I don't understand why. Has anyone else had this experience but overcome it? I would really appreciate any help and advice because it is making me go crazy that I just can't make sense of it and make even the most simple of scripts. Thanks in advance!

Hi there, I am looking to make some script that will hide a div after a certain date. The idea is for advertisers, so if they pay for one month I can enter in the end date that their ad will no longer show. I want to learn PHP so if I can get help on this then that would be great, I want to avoid any pr-made banner scripts etc.
