  1. So if i understand correctly, I will need to define every single domain/subdomain in my hosts file and their assigned IPs? This would not be the hostname, hosts.allow, hosts.deny, or the host.conf?
  2. OS: Ubuntu (dapper) Tool: Webmin The Problem: I am able to connect to my virtual servers on localhost via the unique IP address that i have given each one of them. However I am not able to view the page when typing in just the domain name. I'm sure the answer to this is easy, but i've just been running into brickwalls all day.
  3. Problem Solved. The answer is too simple. When creating the subdomain, disable the mysql server. The parent domain will in turn control all the database functions. I will leave this up here for anyone else who has the same issue at hand.
  4. OS: Ubuntu (dapper) Tool: Webmin (virtualmin) The Problem: Failed to create virtual server : A MySQL database called "subdomain" or user called "user/owner" already exists After successfully creating one subdomain, webmin is not allowing me to create an identical subdomain under a seperate user. These are going to be two different sites run off the same server for the company that my paid internship is at and i need both subdomains under the dif users. Any help with this would be appreciated.
  5. The data is in one table, just different columns
  6. I want to be able to search the tables within my database for zipcodes.  I have all the zips, county, and cities already entered into tables.  I want to be able to type in a zipcode and get the county/city as a result.  I want it to work 3 ways always bringing up the other two.  Im not sure to how to go about doing this.  Any help would be appreciated.
  7. How do i set up the database table and then make the md5 retrieve passwords from it
  8. I'm needing a little help with this for my web server that i am setting up.  I figure this the best place to look for advice.  I am trying to set up a super secure login for my website, with virtually no way around.  I am looking to impliment a time limit for failed login attempts and also track exactly what pages each IP has accessed.  They're will be multiple IP's allowed on the server that I am in control of.  I am using PHP to code the website.
