  1. Hi,

I am currently seeking a professional XHTML & CSS coder, who is cable of undertaking a little project for me.

The job on offer requires the developer to create two Valid XHTML, using only the appropriate tags (e.g. <div>) where necessary.

Please don't hesitate to PM or EMAIL me for more details, or to request a copy of my plans  ;)

    Cheers Folks

I look forward to working with ya.

  2. um.... Where do I start? .....OK, here goes:

Personally, I find it very difficult to read the text on your site, as everthing is Sooooo dark. Why so dark? - Also, user's may be using old CRT monitors, which throw out a much darker (dirtier) light than TFT's, again making text/site hard to see.

Also, why is the dragon (if that's what is it) image saved as a .bmp file? Viewers would slower internet connection would leave straight away, due to the 10 minutes waiting time for the image to download. - Therefore, the site is not necessarily accessible for everyone.

    Hope this helps,

    Dave

  3. I agree with the above. Why so dark?

I favour white backgrounds. You need to remember not everybody has such good eye site as your's, and therefore struggle to read text on certain coloured backgrounds. - Black text on a white background is seen by more people than dark one's. Resulting in your website being more accessible, and therefore receiving more traffic.

I also noticed that you use a heavy amount of images on your site (this is not good, especially for navigation) most modern browsers provide the user with options to load pages without images, CSS, etc. Is your site still navigable with images turned off? - No it's not. Your sites navigation disappears, due to you relying on images. - Resulting in the user being stranded on the current page.

For starters, this can be prevented, by using "alt" text.

    I hope this helps,

    Dave

  4. Yucky! - Inline CSS!  :'(

The 1st thing I would do for sure, is put the inline CSS into an external .CSS file. This then prevents the web browser needing to download the CSS each time. (Saving Bandwidth!)

If I was you, I would also keep the site's body text to a minimum - Myself (and I expect others agree) hate scrolling through masses of only to find that what your looking for is mentioned.

The main page (homepage/index) should feature everything you site offers, even if it is covered only briefly - This will encourage users to click, to find out more!

If you require further help PM me! I like making suggestions!

    I hope this helps,

    Dave

  5. If I was in this situation, I would put everything inside a container div (box) similar to err......the Yell.com website.

This then compacts the information, so there is not to much wasted space. (By doing this also enable users using 800x600+ to view the website exactly the same ;)

    Hope this helps,

    Dave

  6. Hello,

I'm currently searching for an "Expert PHP Developer" who is capable of coding using industry standards e.g classes, template engines etc.

If you think you qualify for this position, please drop me an email of PM me.

    More details available upon request.

I am willing to pay a small fee.

Thanks, for your interest. Greatly appreciated! :)

    Dave

  7. I love the navigation and search column on left (V. Professional), But i'm not to sure about the font used within the main body text. The image above the body text, also appears a bit tacky. - This lets the website appearance fall down

Overall excellent, though needs a bit more though and work.

    Hope this helps,

    Dave

  8. The amount of money you make is so nominal (insignificant) that you might as well pull out the few bucks out of your wallet and impress users. Users love no ads. They feel the site is not full of crap and wasn't just intended to make quick cash.

Does that go for big company also, like ebay advertising company's etc. ;)

The site is very sparse. I think it needs more content and structure. What would people want visit your site to view Google ads, when they can easily get more out of visiting http://google.co.uk or http://google.com?

Not a lot to comment on really, a lot more though and work needs to be put into it! :)

    Hope this helps,

    Dave

  9. All I can see is "This site is under development" followed by blurb.

A word of warning: People rarely revisit websites that are under construction. The best thing to do is take the site down until atleast one page is complete. (Though the completion of the whole site is better)

    Hope this help,

    Dave

  10. I agree with everybody here, site is very boring and plain. Nothing really that catches your eye. Except for the image that takes up most of the screen/page.

If took the images yourself, why does it say "ips.usanetwork.com" at the bottom left of the big image? - Just wondered ;)

    Hope this helps,

    Dave

  11. I like the layout, though you need to use "sans Serif" fonts for screens, as its easier on the eye compared to "serif" fonts.

Also, as everybody so rightly says, I would revise the colour combinations.

Also, in my opinion it's best to keep the text to a minimum. Don't waffle. Maybe the text could be split up more, into separate pages.

Users don't like scanning through masses of text to find something. - It's like looking for a needle in hay stack! :)

    Hope this helps ;),

    Dave

  12. The switchable CSS template is a good idea, bear in mind, that people with disabilitys, may have problems seeing the text on a black/dark background.

I favour a white background - This increases people's viability.

I also agree with "Jabop" there is a lot of wasted space. Why is the size of the container (black box) so big? - Does it need to be this big?

I would think more carefully about your design, so that it is available for a wide audience. Remember people have different screen resolutions, disability's etc. Views of the site also have different needs. What is the main purpose of the site? - Why will people visit? - Does you site display briefly straight away what the user could be looking for?

    Hope this helps :),

    Dave

  13. Upon using the email and password you specified within your original post to login, I get greeted with a YouTube video. - Is this correct?

    Shouldn't I get greeted with a "My Account"? :)

Although I can't see anything except from the login page, the sight looks OK. But has still a lot of work to be done.

Do you have anything else working as yet, that can be viewed?

What is your plans for the site?

    Dave
