can u just gimme the javascript code?

I got one form to mysql submit script and its working fine. When the form is submitted, it displays the confirmation message in the same window. i added taget="_blank", and now it shows in new window. What i need is to have a pop up window or a div to showup on success. this is the code in my php file : if($result = mysql_query($sql ,$db)) { echo 'Thanks, database updated'; } I am very new to to php, can please anyone help me to do this .
