  1. Hi All, I have now resolved this issue and I am in process of writing up my notes in relation to an AMPPS installation of phpMyAdmin. I will get AMPPS support to vet these notes then I will post. Regards
  2. Ok could you suggest where I should be posting? Thx
  3. Dear All, I have have AMPPS installed. I would like to use designer. I have created all the relevent pma tables in the phpmyadmin database and run the create tables and uptables scripts both of which ran without error. I was expect the designer tab to appear when I click in the appropriate database. But it does not. I have made sure all the tables are InnoDB. Any help would be gratefully received. Regards
  4. Yeah well you could be right. All turned out to be related to the use of port 80. Skype and MS Web Client and Web Publishing services all conflicting on port 80. Re-config Skype to us 8080 and stopped the services from running and bingo back in business.
  5. Hi All, I am feeling very stupid right now. I had a perfectly good Apache, MySQL, PHP set up going on my Windows 7 64 bit laptop. For reasons beyond my own comprehension I decided to have a go at a WAMP type install to upgrade to new versions. So I uninstalled Apache through the control panel, uninstalled MySQL through the Control Panel and removed the PHP folders. I had of course backed up all my data. I have tried to install WAMPSERVER2 and it does not work - I have submitted a ticket to them. I have uninstalled that and tried to install AMPPS same thing, Ticket raised uninstalled etc. Gone back to try to reinstall each component from scratch no dice. So I have looked around to get advice on making a totally clean uninstall and have obeyed what instructions I have found. Why did I ignore the first rule - if it ain't broke don't fix it. Shoot me please - what an idiot. :'( Anyway any thoughts as to how to get out of this mess. The symptoms - Apache won't start when either WAMPSERVER or AMPPS installed and Localhost 404... MySQL just refuses to install giving the amazing useful Error 0. I should know better. Any help would be wonderful.
  6. Dear All, I am sure that this is a really basic question. However I cannot see the way forward and would like some help. If we accept that the best practice is not to self call a form but to process the form in a separate php file then if the form fails validation how do we return to the form and display the appropriate information to be edited. I have attempted to use $_SESSION to save the $_POST and use a header function to redirect the flow upon failure of validation is this the correct approach? If anyone can advise or point me in the direction of a suitable tutorial I would be very grateful Regards
