  1. Thank you! Works perfect.
  2. This search criteria / pagination source code is a great example of how to do search and pagination. I've copied the code verbatim - with the exceptions of the database name and table name - but I have an issue that I can't seem to fix. When you first run the script, it falls through and displays all the records. Only when I actually fill in the search values does it operate correctly. I've tried to put conditions to bypass the erroneous listings when first called but am having no luck. Has anyone else had this issue with this script? If so, how did you fix it?
  3. I've been using MySql and PHP programming for about a year now. I searched this site to see if my question was answered before but could not find any information on the question that I have. Here it is: Someone asked me to design a site for them to sell there collectibles (i.e., comics, coins, & stamps). All of these items only have 1 available. He wants me to set up a shopping cart for customers to add what they want to buy to their shopping cart. My question is how do you prevent someone from adding an item when someone already has that one item in their cart already? For example, if customer A places Batman comic #500 in their cart and customer B comes along and wants to buy the same comic but there is only one available, what is the proper procedure to prevent this. Also, I don't want someone to have an item in their cart for, lets say, over an hour only not to make the purchase and then lose out to someone who really wants to buy the item. Does anyone know of a great example of this issue on the Internet? I hope I explained the issue enough. Thank you in advance.
  4. There is one book that I have used in the past that explains how to design what you are trying to do. The book's ISBN is: 0-7821-4279-6 I am in no way endorsing this book for profit but it is very useful. The book has more than it's fair share of typos but if you understand the logical process of programming, you should have no problem. If you go to Amazon, you can find the book very cheap. Hope this helps.
  5. Hi Ignace, I made the changes you suggested. As far as marketing the idea, I am just starting to look into getting the word out to all the newspapers and magazines that buy crossword puzzles. Charles
  6. Hello everyone, I would like to submit my website for critique. The URL for my site is: http://www.ambersoftmedia.com In my non-computing time I enjoy making my own crossword puzzles for others to enjoy. I assembled so many puzzles that I decided to try my hand at selling them to the print publication industry (Newspapers and periodicals). Yes the site is a commercial site but I do not want anyone purchasing anything. All I want is an honest critique. Also, if testing the membership area, please use fake data because I am not trying to collect customers for my site. I used HTML and CSS for the design. Thank you Charles [email protected]
