  1. Hello I've been developing a unique way to make my menus and sites using a single PHP file over the last few years. the layout itself uses several tables, the main table that is a single column by 3 rows. the middle row is then embedded with a second table of 3 columns and 1 row and the mid column/cell has the menu followed by a single cell table that has a stack over flow so that if there is more data in the cell then there is vertical space a scroll bar appears. Here lays the problem though with all the different devices and with screens that have the horizontal and vertical accesses switched the ration is now off set and the site doesn't look correct on the screens like this (there is a lot of blank space at the bottom of the screen). to check out a working site you can go to http://paradisealleywrestling.com here is the code <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> <meta name="description" content="Paradise Alley Wrestling School" > <meta name="keywords" content="wrestling schools, wrestling, wrestling schools ct, wrestling schools east haven, wrestling schools east haven ct, wrestling schools connecticut, wrestling schools east haven connecticut, mario mancini, dave paradise, pretty paul roma, paul roma, wwf wrestlers, wrestlers, become a wrestler, become a pro wrestler, become a professional wrestler, how to become a wrestler, how to become a pro wrestler, how to become a professional wrestler, best wrestling schools" > <meta name="description" content="So you want to be a Pro Wrestler??? 2. I'm trying to learn how to create a single page layout, I've tried to mimic other layouts just from looking at them, but I don't know how to style it properly so it works smoothly. I think I've made a huge boo-boo http://gamer-cafe.net/juliesjungle/index.html#About
  3. All right, it's a little terrible that I need to ask for help on my PORTFOLIO. I have always been moderately good at coding, but design is not my strong suit. My websites ALWAYS come out looking terrible and amateur. I'm confident I'm plenty good enough to get some work done for ma' and pa' businesses done, but I still want to improve. No matter what I try, I cannot be satisfied aesthetically with my website. (HundleyDeveloping.com) I think I know what is bugging me, but not how to fix it. First of all, I think I may need to change the headers? Perhaps they are too styled? Second, I cannot get the layout of the text right. It just does not look right two columned like that, but on the other hand I don't think it would look good single columned either, because my content area is too wide. I could solve that problem by adding a sidebar, but I simply have nothing to put there. Lastly, the lack of graphics seems to bug me too. But, where the heck am I going to get graphics? Again the site is HundleyDeveloping.com Thanks in advanced guys, I really appreciate any help given.
  4. I am not sure what is the best way to layout this design with Divs. As you can see the navigation is split in the middle from the logo. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  5. Hi, I am hoping to start up a micro-republic named The Independent Republic of Ursum. Obviously the site is going to be making the first impression and I want it to be a good one. Don't comment on the .tk domain...I know. Only the homepage is done. I wan't to know if my layout is good before I work on the rest. Scrap it or is it good? theindependentrepublicofursum.tk
  6. I need to create columns in my html with some comments that are being pulled from my database and posted via ajax. This is what I need it to look like after the PHP does its thing. <div class="container"> <div class="comment"></div> <div class="comment"></div> </div class="comment"></div> </div> right now it doesn't create the container causing me to have layout issues. How would you have PHP wrap a container around every third div? I'm very much a front end developer and can't seem to wrap my head around this one. Thanks for the help!
