[SOLVED] event

I have a function that I got from the internet.

 

<a onmouseover="mouseLocation(event);" href="somepage.php">The PAGE!!!</a>

 

It passes event to the function, what is held in event?

Is there a way I can replace e with a predefined event, because I want to remove onmouseover and replace it with href

 

here is the function:

I placed javascript:void(0) in the href, and kept the mouseover
