Easy problem for anyone familiar with PHP or anyone who knows CGI/PERL/JAVASCRIP

I'm lost, I know nothing about PHP and I need a form that can send emails with attachments.  I keep finding the codes and stuff I need but dont know how to use them.  I got a free webserver that supports PHP but, with some of the codes they jsut dont work.  Other codes, I upload the PHP file, try to access them and they either show a blank page, or they just show the code, insted of what I want...a form you fill out to send an email to someone with an attachment attached.  Can anyone help?  Im good with computers just horrible with any type of web design related stuff.  Apparently I need liek step by step instructions on setting this up because I've tried for hours and I cant get nothing.  Same thing is happening with other types of ones I find too like JAVASCRIPT, CGI, etc. I just can not get them to work. thanks alot guys.

You might want to check that your host supports PHP's mail function. I know that a quite a few free hosts disabled this function to prevent people creating sites to send spam easily.
