goldfiles
I've been using the mail() function in php to send all of my site emails, but they ALWAYS 100% get junked in a spam folder. I've done some research and it looks like SwiftMailer is a good alternative. Has anyone used swiftmailer, is it easy? Also, I'm on a shared host, so is this something I can install myself? Thanks
goldfiles
Also, what is all this about SMTP authentication that I'm reading? I haven't had to enter any smtp info into my code with mail()
jonsjava
is the web server in the MX records for the domain it is sending as?
jonsjava
from windows cmd: nslookup -t MX example.com change example.com to the domain you are sending as if the domain your script is located on is not in the list, you are gonna get bounced to the spam folder because that server can't send for that domain. goldfiles
textadmarket.com is my domain. Is that something my host can do for me?
jonsjava
you'll need to get in touch with the people who take care of your name servers (your hosting agency) and have them set their mx records for you. as of right now, you have an empty set for your MX record. just ask them to set a MX record with the value of "textadmarket.com" in your DNS records. haku
I use phpmailer, and find that it only ends up in junkmail boxes if the person has their junk mail filter set to a high level. I have set it up as SMTP, and entered my username and password so that it sends as a verified mail.
