ZeroRence
I'm fairly new to php, so i'm probably missing something easy, but for some reason this doesn't work like i think it should. <?php #Un comment the next line when time to go live. #$Dept = $_COOKIE['DeptNo']; $Dept = '114'; $Typea = "<option>Choose One</option>"; require_once ("../Connections/Prodnet.php"); $query = "select Distinct Type from ARR_Errors where DeptNo = \"$DeptNo\""; $result = mysql_query($query) or die('Query failed: ' . mysql_error()); while ($row = mysql_fetch_array($result, MYSQL_ASSOC)) { $TP = $row['Type']; $Typea .= "<option value=\"$TP\">$TP</option>"; } ?> This doesn't give me a list of options when i try and echo it, in fact, it seems to fail right about when i create the variable $Typea Any help? dptr1988
Have yo checked that "../Connections/Prodnet.php" is getting included properly. Have you set error_reporting to E_ALL? You should be getting error messages. http://www.phpcodinghelp.com/article.php?article=debug#basic_error_messages Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/103405-beginner-help/#findComment-529589 Share on other sites
pwes24
One thing the <option> tag should be in between the <select> </select> tag. Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/103405-beginner-help/#findComment-530866 Share on other sites
