[SOLVED] Begginer question about page layout

Hi!

I started to make my page. I want to make a page layout. Where will be the top with logo, where will be left navigation and right nav and content and footer. But i dont know which technique to use to make layout. 

I wanted to use tables, but i read that its old technique. Then i read that div positioning is good, okey i wanted to choose that one but i read that changing display resolution the page can look differnet from that i made. But i read that need to use some "floats" and that part i didnt understand. Do i can use div positioning but i need to add that "floats" or "floats is some other technique?
