phorcon3 Posted May 2, 2008 Share Posted May 2, 2008 <span id="changeThis">Text</span> and i wanna change Text to Text: ...so i want my function to add a colon... how could i do this? document.getElementById('changeThis').innerHTML = ':'; ...wouldn't work of course... what function do i need to use? any ideas? ps, please dont write somethin like: document.getElementById('changeThis').innerHTML = 'Text:'; i coulda figured that one out myself lol.. b/c the idea is that i don't always know what Text actually is ...so, i just wanna add the colon;) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
phorcon3 Posted May 2, 2008 Author Share Posted May 2, 2008 var test = document.getElementById('changeThis').innerHTML; document.getElementById('changeThis').innerHTML = test + ':'; that would add it ..dont know if theres a better way to do this ... but now i have a diff question.. what if its Text: ..how would i remove the colon? ...i just gotta remove the char-length by -1 ...any ideas?
