spires
Hi Guys. Can any one tell me know I would go about stopping my tracking system from logging hits from search engine spiders? Is there some code that will detect if the user is a spider or a human? At the moment, the spiders are throwing my results out. Thanks for any help. spires
Not really, I just need to know if a human came to my website or a spider came to my website. I think there must be some code, as the big tracking companies 'such as webtrends' can eliminate spiders from their tracking system. Any ideas? phorcon3
mh ...i dont know ..maybe u can make em enter a captcha...? but thatd just be a pain in the ass.. or u could just use the robot.txt file ...and not allow any spiders on ur website... so, only humans will be able to view ur website... might screw up ur SEO tho ...but yeah.. lol ..dunno ...sorry http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robots.txt or maybe u can use google analytics http://www.google.com/analytics/ i havent checked it out yet ..but u might be able to exclude spiders/bots..
