dare87
So the code works you just want the results to display horizontally not vertically? Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/106490-button-help/#findComment-545834 Share on other sites
revraz
This would be a HTML or CSS issue, not PHP. Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/106490-button-help/#findComment-545835 Share on other sites
dare87
Agree. Do it with CSS, or with a table/HTML Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/106490-button-help/#findComment-545838 Share on other sites
sinista
yeah i would like it to list the other way arround. yeah but as you can see the majority of the code is PHP. Im a bit of a noob at web design but from what i can understand is when ever you use FORM tags the form spans the whole of the are its in i.e. the table or the page or what ever. Been looking on google all day but i cant see a way of making the form smaller so that the next time the loop runs and another form is created its not on a new line but next to the previous form. this leads me to belive that this is a PHP problem however i could be wrong. saint959
HI there, you could do something like this: <?php mysql_connect("$host", "$username", "$password")or die("cannot connect"); mysql_select_db("$db_name")or die("cannot select DB"); $result = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM $tbl_name"); print "<table cellpadding=\"0\" cellspacing=\"0\" border=\"0\">"; print "<tr>"; while($row = mysql_fetch_array($result)) { $link=$row['username']; echo" <td width=\"25%\"> <form name='form2' method='post' action='profiletemplate.php'> <input name='searchname' type='hidden' id='searchname' Value='$link'> <label> <input type='submit' CLASS='submit_box' name='Submit' value='$link'> </label> </form> </td>"; } print "</tr> </table>"; mysql_close(); ?> i think that may work, i have not tested it though so there might be typos. dare87
That is what I would do. I use echo instead of print... but it all works Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/106490-button-help/#findComment-545865 Share on other sites
saint959
hey, on the print and echo; what are the main differences? Are there any? sorry for posting here but i dont wanna start a new topic for something this petty Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/106490-button-help/#findComment-545867 Share on other sites
dare87
print behaves like a function. It is used for more complex expressions. Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/106490-button-help/#findComment-545871 Share on other sites
dare87
plus echo is easier in your situation because you don't have to \" echo '<table align="left" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"> <tr>'; Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/106490-button-help/#findComment-545873 Share on other sites
