Count(*) + LIMIT

why wouldnt $b['Count'] give back a number?

 

i even tried using

$total_a=mysql_query("SELECT Count(*) AS Count FROM `articles` LIMIT 3,7");
$total_b=mysql_result($total_a,0,0);

?>

 

but $total_b wouldnt work either... i just need the total so i know where to insert a line break

 

shouldnt:

$total_a=mysql_query("SELECT Count(*) AS Count FROM `articles` LIMIT 0,1");
$total_b=mysql_result($total_a,0,0);

?>

 

equal to 1?

query "SELECT `name`,Count(*) AS Count FROM `articles`" return just one data row

LIMIT 3, 7 force to return rovs 4 to 10 that is empty
