Weird symbols in a form text area

hello there to make this easy i will show this step by step

 

when i add text in the add page such as this

 

Clover surveyed the battlefield from his commander chair in the Stronghold. As he surveyed the empty valley, in which his teams spawn flag dwelled at the end of the valley he noticed something shocking. An enemy, fully speedbuffed was heading towards the flag, and no one was their to defend it. Clover spat out the coffea he was drinking and ran for the telecom, ‘GET TO THE SPAWN FLAG NOW! SOMONES HEADED FOR IT WITH A SPEEDBUFF’. As the unidentified person fast approached the flag, 3 of Clovers team mates spawned out. They were Mio, Hampster Boy and an Unnamed Newbie. They all let fire barrages of pulse fire, all the time missing. The unknown figure drew his sword and ran the Unnamed Newbie through. Mio attacked with his sword but the enemy blocked it, Mio froze for a second and the enemy attacked him twice. Mio relocated. Hamster Boy fired madly missing all his blasts and ran out of ammo, seeing he had no chance in combat against this enemy he too relocated away. The person claimed the spawn flag, and with that, an officer instantly spawned there. ‘Good work Flatline’ said the officer. ‘Ok Moxterminator, lets take down their garrison and raise our own one before more of them come’. Maxterminator and Flatline headed down a valley that went striaght to Clovers base. Mox contacted his commander, ‘Comm, build a garrison here’. Mox’s commander was Primus Sucks. Both Mox, Flatline and Primus Sucks were members of the AoD clan, the leader of AoD was BadBoy. Primus granted Mox’s request for a garrison and Mox and Flatline began to build. Once the Garrison was fully built BadBoy spawned from it. ‘Hey boss,’ said Mox and Flatine. ‘Ok, everyone get Ballistas and lets finish this!’ shouted BadBoy. Moxterminator, Flatline and BadBoy wheeled out the great huge ballistas and began heading for Clovers base. Badboy took 1 route and Mox and Flatline took another route. As BadBoy was taking the seemingly unguarded route down a vally, a savage jumped out to his flank Firing pulse blasts at him. It was Alchemist! BadBoy fired the Ballista and Alchemist ran as the ballista blasts just fell a few feet short of him. Alchemist let rip a fire of Pulse and destroyed BadBoy. Alchemist walked over to the burning rubble, ‘you were a good leader BadBoy, Im sorry your riegn of head of the AoD clan has ended’. As Alchemist turned away he heard ‘What the hell are you appoligising for?’. Alchemist turned around and out of the rubble BadBoy jumped high into the air, brandeshing his mighty Sabre. Alchemist drew his sword and jumped at BadBoy, the 2 locked swords in mid air ‘Its been too long BadBoy’ said Alchemist staring into BadBoys eyes, ‘Ha! Your just sore after how Bad I beat you last time’ quipped BadBoy. The 2 thrust eachother backwards and landed on the ground. Alchemist donned several electric grenades and threw them towards BadBoy who dodged them with ease. As the 2 fought they worked their way up a hill and the view of the hill was that of Clovers StrongHold being bombarded with Ballista fire. Other memebers of Clovers team such as Mio and HampsterBoy were fleeing. Clover raised the white flag over the stronghold. He was finally defeated. ‘Game over Alchemist, you loose’ BadBoy said to Alchemist. The 2 stopped fighting. Alchemist was out of breath, but BadBoy had hardly broken a sweat, it was clear if it was a fight to the death, BadBoy would have won. ‘Good game, as allways BadBoy, but I have came for another reason. A new clan has appeared, Its good, perhaps it can even rival AoDs dominance over the world of Mpuk, and perhaps other parts of the world, they call themselves the Warrior clan. Their leader is Maximus, many of the Warriors have extreme skill far about your average fighter, others include people called  Bilbo, and Amryltan.’ Said Alchemist. ‘Hmmm, well thanks for the warning Alchemist, but AoD isnt going to be taken down by any clan, Ill look forward to meeting these Warrior clan you speak of’.

 

it views fine on the page and everything but when i click on the edit function to edit the text in a form it shows it as this

you see you notice the ’ and ‘...i think these are symbols replacing the quotues

 

i just wondering how do i fix it so that when i go on the edit page ...it removes the weird symbols and displays the proper double quotues

sounds like a encoding issule to me.. either way its not PHP its HTML/CSS

’ is the UTF-8 encoding for Right Single Quotation Mark.

‘ is the UTF-8 encoding for Left Single Quotation Mark.

 

I assume the database is in UTF-8, so your page should be?

You can replace the single quotes when outputting the text to the screen:
