datetime update

I am trying to update the datetime2 in my database here is my query.

 

$sql = "UPDATE forum_question SET datetime2 = now() WHERE id='id'";
$result = mysql_query($sql);

 

The reason why im trying to update this is so that my forum will be showing the last date and time a post was posted in that forum.

So...was there a question in there somewhere?  Offhand I'd say that it has to do with

 

WHERE id='id'";

 

I have a sneaking suspicion your id column holds numbers in it instead of two letter words like 'id' you'll probably want to change that to a variable.  But that's my best guess, seeing as how my  crystal ball is in the shop.
