liamloveslearning
hey everyone, im just after some information about e-comm websites such as paypal for example; when a user deposits money into the account where is it stored? how is it stored in the database? is it safe for people to set sites like this up or do they have to go under vast securtiy vhecks and "verified" ? Thanks Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/109057-solved-information/ Share on other sites
discomatt
PayPal stores everything for you. Many sites like to keep their own records for receipts, but because they see nothing extremely sensitive, a database compromise won't get them into heaps of trouble Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/109057-solved-information/#findComment-559481 Share on other sites
liamloveslearning
so if somebody was to produce an ebay clone, and you wanted to post a job, would the clone site just be intended to redirect the payment to paypal? so its not dealing with money in itself? if anybody knows any websites explaining the process itd be great; thanks Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/109057-solved-information/#findComment-559487 Share on other sites
discomatt
Yeah, you let paypal handle all payments, then PayPal lets you know when transactions have gone through... google up using the paypal API for good tutorials/examples Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/109057-solved-information/#findComment-559492 Share on other sites
