Giddy Rob
Hi, I have never created or integrated a forum into a website before so I was wondering what would be the most simple way of doing it? Is it easier to plug in a forum thats already been created (if so which one is simple and cheap?) or to just code one up myself? If I do a simple one myself how long should it take about? Rough gestimate would be great. Cheers in advance Rob Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/109717-integrating-a-forum/ Share on other sites
MadTechie
A simple forum may take a few days to a few months.. maybe look into SMF (Simple Machines LLC) thats what this forum is, or maybe PHPBB, Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/109717-integrating-a-forum/#findComment-562979 Share on other sites
Orio
There are many free open source forums you could use. SMF (this board that phpfreaks uses) is one example. Check this comparison in wikipedia of forums: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_Internet_forum_software_(PHP) I really don't think you should start writing your own system from scratch. Why reinvent the wheel? There are so many quality and free systems out there. Just choose. Orio. MadTechie
I personally like PHPBB & SMF, InvisionPower Board is nice but at a cost.. if this thread is finished please click solved Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/109717-integrating-a-forum/#findComment-562995 Share on other sites
