Use Ajax to edit checkbox value

I would like to use ajax to edit the value of a checkbox.  I assumed it would be the same way that you can edit a textbox, such as:

 

document.getElementByID('confirm').value = document.testForm.drop_down.options[document.testForm.drop_down.selectedIndex].value;

 

where if 'confirm' was a textbox it would be populated with the value, however this doesn't seem to work when set to a checkbox control.

Call me crazy, but it doesnt look like your are doing anything with ajax, just simple javascript.
