gtomescu
Hello, I have a JS function that I'd like to call using PHP. What I've done so far is to paste the java script into a PHP document (upload.php), as follows: <? <script language="JavaScript"> function mysubmit() { .... } </script> ?> Next, I have my main PHP script, and I've included the upload.php, with the line [include ("upload.php");]. So my question is, how do I call the function mysubmit()? I'm trying "function mysubmit();" but I'm getting a syntax error. Any help would be great. Thank! .josh
php is parsed on the server. javascript is parsed on the client. php doesn't 'call' javascript. It simply spits out to your browser like any other text. Your browser decides what to do with it. hansford
Crayon is right. You'd need to echo out the entire script and then you can even echo out a call to the function. php doesn't know anything about javascript, but we can trade values through $_POST and $_GET using form values and appending strings to the ends of URL's Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/110218-call-javascript-function-from-php-syntax/#findComment-565595 Share on other sites
