beachtime
I have the following line in a PHP script: $images .= "<PictureUrl>$image</PictureUrl>$NewLine"; I want to sequentially number the "PictureURL" starting with the number 1. The way this line of code works is if there are more than one images, the line outputs the following: <PictureUrl>http://www.imageurl.com/imagename.jpg</PictureUrl> <PictureUrl>http://www.imageurl.com/imagename.jpg</PictureUrl> <PictureUrl>http://www.imageurl.com/imagename.jpg</PictureUrl> Each line has its own unique image name and url. If there is only one image, it only outputs one line with the image url and name as shown above. I want to be able to add a sequential number to the "<PictureUrl>" so it outputs the following: <PictureUrl1>http://www.imageurl.com/imagename.jpg</PictureUrl1> <PictureUrl2>http://www.imageurl.com/imagename.jpg</PictureUrl2> <PictureUrl3>http://www.imageurl.com/imagename.jpg</PictureUrl3> I know I need to create a variable and add the "++" to have it increment. I am not sure where to place the code in the one line of code at the top of this post. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
GingerRobot
You'll need some form of loop: $images = ''; for($x=1;$x<5;$x++){//adjust to fit your needs $images .= '<PictureUrl'.$x.'>'.$image.'</PictureUrl>'.$NewLine; } echo $images; You'll find a good tutorial on loops here: http://www.phpfreaks.com/tutorial/php-loops
