We don't have the technology to take it to the moon yet I'm actually really looking forward to seeing what results they find from it - this is the biggest physics experiment in many, many years, and it's absolutely fascinating watching it being set up. And if they do manage to create killer strangelets that turn all matter into dark matter, sticking the LHC on the moon wouldn't have made any difference since the strangelets would just float through space and get us anyway.
