Loading bar ?

Hello... I cant figure out how websites do the following:

Preload a swf file while displaying something, such as an Advertisement, through the use of Javascript.

I'm guessing it could be as simple as hiding the swf (flash file) and then unhiding it (+ hide the advertisement/wateva) - except theres an actual loading bar with progress:

An example can be found here:

Can this be done with javascript? Anyone know how??????????? Please help, or point me in the right direction thanks.

Though the flash game is actually being loaded in the background, I am pretty sure the loading bar is fake. They probably put it there only to require a certain amount of time for the user to view the advertisement before playing the game.
