that is a dreamweaver problem if you can connect to the database through alternative means (phpmyadmin, php, terminal etc.) then you need to use those settings in dreamweaver to make it work.

Building and running a database through dreamweaver isn't a very good idea beacuse you will not learn anything

i have the phpmyadmin file. I haver placed it in the htdocs file in the apache files. I then copied the config.sample.ini.php file and pasted it then renamed it too config.ini.php and opened it up in word pad and entered in a password where the blow_fish secret bit is. and then as i went on to my web browser and typed in http://localhost that came up with the apache page saying the software has installed correctly. i then tryed http://phpmyadmin which didnt work. then i tryed http://localhost/phpmyadmin this came up with the directory of the phpmyadmin file. so then i tryed http://localhost/phpmyadmin/index.php and i kept downloading the index.php file.

i really have no idea what to do lol. does anyone know where i am going wrong?
