[SOLVED] How is my count off?

I tried yours (before you edited it ;) ).

I found the problem and I'm happy to report that it wasn't any of our code attempts.  It's a javascript that is embedded into the page that I can't remove (so says management).  If I remove it the count is perfect - when I put it back in, it counts in threes.  So, I will just divide the count by 3 when showing the count and call it good enough.

A sincere thanks to everyone here that helped me out.  It's appreciated more than you know!!!

Okay, seems solved, but..

When you said the entire code some posts ago, it couldn't be, since you're not connecting to the database. How is the snippet run? I suspect it being included in a loop or something. If you put 2 instead of 1, do you get intervals of 6?
