I have changed my uploader script a little, but I want to add a few variables. I want to add a categories selector so the files uploads to a specific folder (/music/ for music, /apps/ for software, etc.).

This is my code so far for upload.php

<?php
$target = "upload/";
$target = $target . basename( $_FILES['uploaded']['name']) ;
$ok=1;
if(move_uploaded_file($_FILES['uploaded']['tmp_name'], $target))
{
echo "The file ". basename( $_FILES['uploadedfile']['name']). " has been uploaded";
}
else {
echo "Sorry, there was a problem uploading your file.";
}
?>

and this is the code for my upload.html

<form enctype="multipart/form-data" action="upload.php" method="POST">
Please choose a file: <input name="uploaded" type="file" /><br />
<input type="submit" value="Upload" />
</form>

It's ultimately simple but I'm retarded. If someone can post an example of how to do this based on this code, I would really really appreciate it.

You can have radio buttons with the option to select music or apps in the upload.html page.  At the upload.php file, check to see which option was selected and then do a condition like this:

if($button == 'Music')

{

  target path will be upload/music/

}

if($button == 'Apps')

{

    target path will be upload/apps/

}

Hope this helps you.

you can put this after the 'Please choose a file' in the upload.html file

Please choose one:

<input type = 'radio' name ='type' value= 'music'>Music

<input type = 'radio' name ='type' value= 'apps'>Apps

then at the upload.php file do this:

$button = $_POST['type'];

then follow my previous comment.
