proggR
So I was just wondering something. Lets say I have a site and want to put a podcast/radio station on it from my home computer. I could register with DynDNS or another site like it so that my IP address it logged and somehow (not sure offhand, but that's not what I'm concerned with) add that IP address to my site which would have a page with a player on it that gets the stream and allows people to listen to it. Now, what I want to know is, does the bandwidth used to my computer that is streaming change depending on how many people are listening or does it stay constant because its only streaming it once to the player and the player is just accessed from my server? Also, would having the player on my site's server have it's bandwidth affected by more people accessing it. I believe the answer to the second question is likely yes, but the first I'm not sure of. I'd really like to know though so I'm not going to incur overage charges since it'd be a residential ISP that I'd be streaming through. Thanks in advance.
