online survey, data inputted via pda's

Hi all.

 

I have been tasked to come up with a solution for many people to go out to different locations with an electronic inputting devise and take a survey of passers by.

 

I have suggested building a very simple html form on the Internet that the inputers can use a PDA with Internet access to submit results to a single mysql database, so that all data in stored automatically in the one repository and results can be accessed in real time by the client in a secure password protected area.

 

Can anyone give me any thoughts on the type of equipment I would need and potential logistical or technical problems this solution might have.
