Simple Counter

I want to make a simple counter loop that will start at 0001 and will not stop till the loop is done getting records from an XML file.

I am working out the XML parsering loop now, but if someone could assist me with a sample of how I could get a counter to start with 0001.

It is going to be names for images image0001.jpg, etc.

use the strlen() function to determin how many characters are in your $count variable... and append the correct number of 0's to the $count variable afterwards.

ie.

$count_len = strlen($count);
if($count_len==1){$zero="000";}
if($count_len==2){$zero="00";}
if($count_len==3){$zero="0";}
if($count_len==4){$zero="";}

echo "filename$zero$count.jpg";
