PatPHP
Hi Guys I programmed a small project which worked great on my test machine windows. Then I copied everything to a linux box and now I get an error if a query doesn't return anything and I run mysql_affected_rows afterwards. I thought if it doesn't return anything it mysql_affected_rows should be zero. Is this a setting in php???? Or what is the way around that? Thx pat
PFMaBiSmAd
Your query failed, either due to no connection to the database server, no database selected, or an sql syntax error and your code has no error checking logic and it blindly executed a mysql_affected_rows() statement on a non-existent result resource (a query that works but has zero rows returns a valid result resource and does not produce the error you are getting.) PatPHP
Hi I found the error. I had two databases opened but used the mysql_affected_rows on the wrong one which was MS Sql server. Thank you very much.
