Can someone please explain to me how fgetcsv separates columns of data in a csv file, because some of the rows have commas in the column and they get put in the mysql db just fine... The reason I'm asking is because I'm considering switching all of my INSERT statements to LOAD DATA INFILE statements because of it taking several hours to load a single csv file... Well, apparently when using LOAD DATA INFILE, you have to specify

FIELDS TERMINATED BY ',' OPTIONALLY ENCLOSED BY '"' LINES TERMINATED BY '\r\n'

....... I'm just not sure what to put, because if I use comma, then certain rows that have commas in the data will be screwed up... Can someone please help me through this dilemma?

Currently using...

$handle = fopen($_POST['file_name'], "r");
while (($fields = fgetcsv($handle, 0, ",")) !== FALSE) {
