htaccess help

Ok people i need to pick at your minds i need help with htaccess lol

 

I know how to protect a directory with a password so the admin area would be safe, but would a web bot be able to list the directory or a site ripper?

 

Also, i need to protect my "other" directorys just so people and bots carnt list the contents, hotlink and whatnot now this is the code i tried for that but didnt work as it should on the localhost. also do you think i should just redirect users if they try to access a folder they shouldnt?

Ok ive nearly sorted out my htaccess i just need a little help/information basically i have now stopped people from viewing the directorys ive just got to re-add the bots. But do i need to password protect the directorys with the css in so thats no viewable?
